An apparatus and a method for controlling an electric power are provided to improve the DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) receiving sensitivity by recognizing a selection signal for DMB receiving mode, varying the resistance value, and changing the switching frequency. A controller(100) is configured to control a DMB receiving system. A variable resistor unit(102) has a resistance value, which is varied according to control signal of the controller. A switch unit(106) has a switching frequency, which is changed according to the resistance value of the variable resistor unit. A PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) control unit(104) controls the duty ratio of pulse signal, which is inputted to the switching unit, according to the resistance value of the variable resistor unit. |
