Provided is a room temperature stable and minimal aggregate liquid formulation comprising (a) a specified oligonucleotide or a variant oligonucleotide with no more than 3 varied bases, with the proviso that any variant bases are non-sequential; and (b) an aqueous carrier comprising a aggregation-preventing compound selected from the group consisting of mono and disaccharides and/or sugar alcohols, wherein said formulation is stable for at least 6 hours with no detectable formulation of aggregation as measured by HPLC. Further provided are variants with methylated nucleotides at specific locations.
