Disclosed is a crystal form of a hydrochloride salt of the stereomerically pure compound of formula (I) (i.e. (-)-O-desmethylvenlafaxine), which has an X-ray powder diffraction pattern comprising peaks at approximately 14.5, 19.1, 21.4, and 23.0 2Theta. Further disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition comprising said crystal form, and the use of said crystal form in the manufacture of a medicament for treating, preventing, or managing depression, pain, anxiety, incontinence, or menopausal vasomotor symptoms.
