Disclosed is a valve seat assembly which includes a valve body adapted to sealingly receive a valve member. The body has a bore and is deformable to permit passage of the valve member along the body bore and out of the body. The assembly includes at least one locking element mounted for movement relative to the body between a retracted position in which the locking element permits passage of the valve member along the body bore and out of the body, and an extended position in which the locking element restricts passage of the valve member along the body bore and out of the body.
