<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of a chuck used to lathe a machine tool or other purposes for holding a workpiece that the deformation of a chuck body occurs due to an increase in centrifugal force by the high-speed rotation of the machine tool, the motion of a working part suffers from a delicate change, and the holding of the workpiece is not stable, thus causing a drop of a gripping force and deterioration in machining accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: Carbon fiber reinforced plastic is provided along a side face circumference in a radial direction of the chuck body thereby inhibiting the outward deformation of the chuck body caused by the gripping force and a centrifugal force of the chuck to improve the rigidity of the chuck body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
