Deterioration in communication quality due to interference caused by loss in accuracy of channel information, or due to interference from another base station or another wireless communications system, is prevented. The wireless communications system comprises a plurality of antenna elements, a transmission unit that respectively handles the plurality of antenna elements, a first wireless station equipped with a transmission directivity control unit that controls the transmission directivity of the plurality of antenna elements, and a plurality of second wireless stations equipped with received power measurement units that measure received power. The transmission directivity control unit determines the transmission directivity of each of the plurality of antenna elements such that signals do not reach a specific second wireless station of the plurality of wireless stations. The transmission unit generates wireless signals using the transmission directivity control unit. The plurality of antenna elements transmit the generated wireless signals. The received power measurement units measure the received power in intervals set such that the signals do not arrive independently, and detect the presence or absence of interference.
