IMAGE DISPLAY AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve contrast of an image display.

SOLUTION: An image display comprises a light emitting device for emitting light in accordance with a current amount in a light emission period; a storage capacity for storing a potential difference caused in accordance with a display potential supplied to one end thereof before the light emission period; a driving transistor for adjusting a current amount of a drain electrode thereof in accordance with the potential difference stored by the storage capacity; a lighting control switch connected to the drain electrode of the driving transistor serially with the light emitting device and turned on in the light emission period; and a discharging switch for connecting, before the light emission period, a point on a current path generated from the driving transistor to the light emitting device when the lighting control switch is turned on to a line used for supplying a discharge potential.
