PURPOSE: A portable electronic device that easily performs an operation of a control mode is provided to easily control set values with respect to operations of a camcorder irrespective of the number of buttons provided in the camcorder or a remote control. CONSTITUTION: A portable electronic device includes a storage unit(180), an adjusting part(160), a display, a menu selector(170), and a controller(150). The storage unit stores operation information of each of modules of the device, control information including a value set for carrying out a corresponding operation, and an integrated control menu linked to the control information. The adjusting part has keys for controlling entering a control mode and the set value. The display displays the integrated control menu and the control information on a screen according to the control mode. The menu selector selects a control menu from the integrated control menu and receives a command for updating the set value. The controller updates the set value in response to the updating command.
