IMAGE CAPTURING APPARATUS, WHITE BALANCE ADJUSTMENT METHOD, AND WHITE BALANCE ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a tint of the whole image for an image captured with flash.

SOLUTION: A CPU 11 causes an image capturing unit 20 to capture an image captured with flash from a light emitting unit 21 and a through-image without flash. A white balance gain calculation unit 16 acquires a gain value of each color component for adjusting white balance of the captured image and the through-image set in image capturing. An image partitioning unit 15 partitions a captured image area into plural areas. A luminance acquisition unit 17 acquires luminance values in the plural areas partitioned by the image partitioning unit 15 for the captured image and the through-image in the partitioned areas. The white balance gain calculation unit 16 specifies areas in which respectively calculated relative values are equal to or smaller than a predetermined value. A luminance comparing unit 41 calculates a value obtained by dividing a luminance value in an area of the captured image by a luminance value in an area of the through-image as a relative value, and preferentially selects plural relative values having a small value. The white balance gain calculation unit 16 corrects the gain value of each color component.
