<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer circuit and a data transfer system capable of obtaining a sufficient data transfer rate between the circuit and a device according to a use state. <P>SOLUTION: A root complex (a data transfer unit) 1 switches between a state in which a LAN interface (a device) 31 is connected to a ×4 connection unit (a serial bus connection unit) 11 and a USB interface (a device) 32 is connected to a ×1 connection unit (a serial bus connection unit) 12 and a state in which the LAN interface 31 is connected to the ×1 connection unit 12 and the USB interface 32 is connected to the ×4 connection unit 11. The switching changes a data transfer rate.
