Disclosed is a device for checking the security configuration of a network device, including: one or more pre-configured scan policies; a scan policy generator for selecting one or more scan policies from the pre-configured scan policies so as to generate a new scan policy corresponding to the network device; and a scanner for performing a security scan on the network device using the newly generated scan policy so as to check the security configuration thereof. Also disclosed is a corresponding method for checking the security configuration and a network system using the checking device.
