<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyion complex capable of suppressing gelling during reaction, and producing the polyion complex efficiently by a simple and inexpensive method. <P>SOLUTION: Concerning the internal temperature of a cylinder 12 of a mixing extruder 10, zone A1 is set at a plasticizing temperature of chitosan, and zone A2 is set at a production temperature of the polyion complex, respectively. Chitin or chitosan, and alginic acid are inputted from a first raw material input port 14 and plasticized, and then lactic acid or the like and water are inputted from a second raw material input port 16, to thereby produce the polyion complex. Moisture is discharged successively to the outside of the cylinder 12 by a vacuum deaeration mechanism 18.
