PURPOSE: A touch type image display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to integrate a patterned retarder layer with a touch sensor layer on one substrate, thereby reducing the entire thickness and weight. CONSTITUTION: A base substrate is separated from a display panel. A touch sensor layer(264) is formed on one side of the base substrate. A patterned retarder layer(244) is formed on a lower part of the touch sensor layer. A bonding layer(238) is formed between the display panel and the base substrate. The bonding layer bonds the display panel with the base substrate.
