PICVD COATING FOR PLASTIC CONTAINERS

The compound material (1) has a coating (3) on a substrate (2), as a barrier coating for plastics beverage bottles. The coating has an inner layer (31) with a barrier layer (4) against the substrate, and a second outer layer (32) with a passivation layer (5). The passivation layer is applied using plasma pulse induced chemical vapor deposition.
