Process for preparing activated metathesis catalysts

Production of supported catalysts (I), comprising a carrier (C) and active component (A), involves: (a) forming a catalyst precursor by applying a precursor for a metathesis catalyst to the carrier (C); (b) contacting with a hydrocarbon compound at -20 to +550[deg]C; and (c) tempering at 410-850[deg]C. An independent claim is included for the catalysts (I) obtained by the process.
