PURPOSE: A device for evaluating a worth of jewels by using a computed tomography device and method thereof are provided to accurately observe an inner structure and state of a jewel because the jewel is cut in a three dimensional direction by a tomography analysis. CONSTITUTION: A device for evaluating a worth of jewels by using a computed tomography comprises a CT(Computed Tomography) beam transmission unit(10), a detector(20), an image obtaining unit(30), an image storing unit(110), a count range setting unit(120), a gray level range obtaining unit(130), a singular part discriminating unit(140), a singular part rate output unit(150), and a central control part(160). The image obtaining unit obtains images of sliced jewel analyzed by the detector. The count range setting unit sets a perimeter range by distinguishing an area corresponding to the jewel and an extra area in the images of the sliced jewel and a cont range for counting a part within the perimeter range. The gray level range obtaining unit obtains a gray level range within the set cont range or the singular range. The singular part discriminating unit references distributions of the gray level inside of the jewel obtained by the gray level range obtaining unit and the gray level within the singular range, thereby detecting one or more among an outer cover of the jewel, a gap or a crack, and a contained material or an artificially injected material. |
