Provided is a polymer bead particle which has various degree of particle size of monodispersion or polydispersion and can be easily applied to an optical material by using a material having a high refractive index and a high transparency. The polymer bead particle comprises 0.01-99.99 mol% of a norbornene derivative represented by a formula 1, wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are identical or different one another and are H, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkylcarbonyloxy group, a halogen atom, or a vinyl group. Preferably the polymer bead particle is prepared by suspension polymerization or dispersion polymerization.
