The device has a setting element (16) supported by the externally threaded sleeve (21) onto which the setting washer (38) is threaded. The headlamp housing (10) is fitted with the hollow externally threaded shaft (31), cooperating with a second internal thread of the setting washer (38). The threads carried by the sleeve (21) and the hollow shaft (31) run in opposite directions. An annular extension (33) of the shaft (31) fits into the bottom end of the sleeve (21).
