摘要 <p>This surface-coated cutting tool (1) achieves a high level of both wear resistance and chipping resistance. The surface-coated cutting tool (1) is provided with a substrate (7) and a coating film formed on the substrate (7). A first coating layer (8) at a chamfered section (4) has a minimum residual stress value at a depth (A) that is within a depth of 2 µm from the surface thereof, and the minimum value is between -7 GPa and -1 GPa inclusive. The first coating layer (8) that is apart from the chamfered section (4) has a residual stress that continuously or stepwisely increases in the direction towards the center of the cutting surface and in the direction of the center of the flank, and is a residual stress that is between 0 GPa and 2 GPa inclusive. The first coating layer (8), in the region that is deeper in the direction of depth from depth (A) at the chamfered section (4) and the region that is apart from the chamfered section (4) is a large crystal structure region (9) containing crystals that are larger than the crystals in a fine crystal structure region (10).</p>
