Provided is a banknote deposit and dispensing machine having a drawer that houses a banknote accommodation cassette and is pulled out of a device frame along a slide rail to attach or detach the banknote accommodation cassette. Two slide rails are provided at different heights, and the slide rail on the side at which an operation is performed to attach or detach the banknote accommodation cassette is positioned lower than the other slide rail. Alternatively, a guide rail is further provided at the bottom of the device frame and a guide roller is provided at the bottom of the drawer so that when the drawer is accommodated in the device frame, the rails and rollers engage with each other.
