PROCESS FOR PRODUCING ORGANIC THIN FILM LAMINATE USING SOLID OR OILY MATERIAL FOR ORGANIC THIN FILM FORMATION APPLICATIONS

A solid or oily material for organic thin film formation applications is produced by hydrolyzing and condensing at least one organic metal compound represented by formula (I): R1 nMXm-n in a lower alcohol solvent in the presence of water at a concentration of 0.5-5 mass% in the resulting reaction solution and an acid. The resulting solid or oily material is dissolved in an organic solvent, and a substrate is brought into contact with the resulting solution. In this manner, a highly functional organic thin film can be formed on the substrate.
