<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To explicitly describe an XRPC in an XQuery. <P>SOLUTION: A retrieval device includes a first acceptance part, a first generation part, a first transmission part, a second transmission part, a second acceptance part, a reception part, an execution part, and a third transmission part. The first acceptance part accepts a retrieval request from a client. The first generation part generates a decentralized retrieval request requesting a server to perform retrieval, and an integration request for integrating a retrieval result by the decentralized retrieval request from the retrieval request. The first transmission part transmits the decentralized retrieval request to the server. The second transmission part transmits identification information on an execution result of the integration request to the client. The second acceptance part accepts an acquisition request for the execution result identified with the identification information from the client. The reception part receives a retrieval result for the decentralization retrieval request from the server. The execution part executes the integration request for the received retrieval result.
