<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device capable of preventing phosphors from reaching high temperatures and capable of improving light extraction efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A light-emitting device 1 comprises: a semiconductor laser element 2 emitting laser light of linear polarization; phosphors 5 irradiated with the laser light from the semiconductor laser element 2; and a filter 4 disposed in a passage region of the laser light emitted from the semiconductor laser element 2. The phosphors 5 contact the filter 4. The filter 4 transmits the linear polarization of the laser light and is formed so as to reflect the linear polarization having the polarization plane perpendicular to the polarization plane of the linear polarization of the laser light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
