PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a method of preventing a Differential Power Analysis (DPA) attack which utilizes timeline alignment.

SOLUTION: The method of preventing the DPA attack to an apparatus includes: a process in which an amount of time required for determining at least one lookup table address is changed randomly; and a process in which an amount of time generated between one access of at least one lookup table 107 and a subsequent access of another lookup table is changed randomly. In the method, leakage information cannot be aligned in time to allow an attacker to break the encryption.
