The subject of the invention is an anti-theft method and devices for vehicles having a steering wheel. An anti-theft device according to the invention comprises a cylindrical ring 5 which is engaged into the splines 2 in the steering column 1 and a metal hub 8 which is fixed to the centre of the steering wheel 4 and in which a lock 10 is incorporated, whose lock bolt 11 enters into a notch 6 situated at the periphery of the ring 5. An anti-theft self-breaking nut 12 is screwed on the threaded end 3 of the steering column. When the lock bolt 11 is in the retracted position in the lock, the hub turns freely on the ring 5, so that the steering wheel can no longer be used for steering the vehicle. This is the anti-theft position. One application is the anti-theft equipment of cars. <IMAGE> |
