PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately calculate spectral data for fingerprint authentication from a fingerprint image in which finger ridge parts are blurred in black.

SOLUTION: A fingerprint authentication device includes fingerprint image correction processing means 303 of generating a histogram of pixel values based upon fingerprint image data input from a fingerprint input device 301, and correcting the pixel values of respective pixels using a correction coefficient for correcting a first pixel value associated with a brightest pixel in a set of pixels such that an integrated value of the number of pixels on a dark part side on the histogram has a predetermined ratio to an integrated value of the number of all the pixels to a second pixel value larger in brightness than the first pixel value.
