<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a user from missing a TV program which the user desires to view in a digital broadcast receiver. <P>SOLUTION: If automatic recording processing for automatically recording the TV program which the user views is ON (S22) when a non-operational state continues for prescribed time or above and shift timing to a standby mode comes while the user views the TV program (S21) in a TV receiver, a message for starting automatic recording is displayed on a display (S23). The TV receiver obtains broadcast termination time of the TV program which the user views (S24), moves a self-device to a power saving recording mode (S25) and records the TV program which the user views in an HDD (S26).
