<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system capable of preventing flicker when wearing 3-dimensional glasses corresponding to a plurality of 3-dimensional glasses with different shutter frequencies, and lighting equipment using the system. <P>SOLUTION: A lighting system is used for a space using 3-dimensional glasses comprising a shutter alternately blocking respective translucent faces of a pair of lenses at any one of plural kinds of shutter frequencies. The lighting system comprises a step-down chopper circuit 3 for outputting a direct-current I1 to a light source 6, and a control part 4 for turning on and off the supply of the direct-current I1 to the light source 6 at a predetermined PWM frequency.
