Described are initiators, a detection kit and method for detecting Colletotrichum capsici, which comprises the following steps: (a) obtaining a biological sample from the desired plant; (b) isolating the DNA of said biological sample; (c) subjecting the DNA to a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using as initiator a sense sequence (SEQ ID NO. 1): 5'-GTA GCC GTC CCC TAA AAA GG-3' and an antisense sequence ((SEQ ID NO. 2): 5'-CCC AAT GCG AGA CGA AAT G-3'; and (d) detecting the Colletotrichum capsici by visualizing the amplified product of the polymerase chain reaction.
