[Also in Division H1] A switch mounting device 10 for mounting a switch 12 on a panel 14 with an operating element 18 projecting through an opening 20 in panel 14 comprises a body 28, Fig. 3 (not shown) having an aperture registrable with opening 20 and mounting elements 40 at the margins of the aperture projecting from body 28 to extend through opening 20 and engage with the edges of opening 20, body 28 further having extensions extending from opposite edges of the aperture and provided with means 48 for attachment of switch 12 to device 10 at the side of body 28 remote from mounting elements 40 so that operating element 18 extends through the aperture and opening 20. As shown, switch 12 is mounted on device 10 by ears 50 of the switch casing fitting over pins 48 and being secured by friction clips 52. Device 10 is preferably made of plastics material such as polypropylene. Mounting elements 40 may be flared towards each other to release device 10 from panel 14. The under surfaces of elements 40 may be inclined slightly the better to grip panel 14. |
