The device (30) has a reciprocable needle (8) guided in a needle guide (9) by an eccentric cam (2). An elongated sliding element (5) converts rotational movement of the eccentric cam into reciprocating motion of the needle. A slide guide (3) is supported on longitudinal sides of the sliding element. The needle is connected with the sliding element through a pendulum-type suspension (6). The eccentric cam is arranged between the suspension and the needle guide. A direct current (DC) motor (1) is electrically connected with a battery (10).
