PURPOSE: A height adjusting device for a vehicle seat is provided to improve operation efficiency by reducing a torque transfer path from an input shaft to an output shaft. CONSTITUTION: A height adjusting device for a vehicle seat comprises a front housing(1), an input shaft(4), multiple second engagement units(7a,7b), a retainer(7c), an output member(10), and an output shaft(11). The front housing is fixed to a seat cushion. The input shaft is inserted into the front housing and has multiple cam planes(4a). The second engagement units are arranged on the cam planes. The retainer accepts the second engagement units and is connected to the outer surface of the input shaft. The output member has a friction surface touching with the second engagement units. The output shaft is coupled to the center of the output member and has an output gear which adjusts the height of a seat.
