摘要 Intended is to improve the mechanical strength and the durability of a collector for a nonaqueous secondary battery, so that an active substance layer may be carried efficiently in a high adhesion on the surface of the collector. This improvement is achieved by using a pair of working means, which have surfaces pressed toward each other to form a pressing nip portion for allowing a sheet-shaped substance to pass therethrough and which have a plurality of recesses formed in at least one surface. A metal foil for the collector is subjected to a compressing treatment by passing it through the pressing nip portion of the working means so that a plurality of projections are formed on at least one surface of the collector metal foil by the partial plastic deformation caused according to the compressing treatment.
