The device has a Braille cell formed by a matrix of six pins (P1-P6) arranged in crossing holes (T1-T6) in a turntable (100). Each pin occupies a high position in which an upper end of the pin emerges from a plain upper face of the turntable, or a low position in which a lower end of the pin levels the upper face. Each pin is passed from one position to another position under the effect of pressure exerted by a user, and maintained in high or low position by a bolt (21). Two grooves (200) are separated by a central part.
