EDGE-LIT BACKLIGHT MODULE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

An edge-lit backlight module (10) and a liquid crystal display are provided. The edge-lit backlight module (10) includes a backboard (11), a light guide plate (12), a fixing frame (14) and a luminous device (15). The fixing frame (14) wraps and fixes the light guide plate (12) on the backboard (11). The circuit board (151) of the luminous device (15) is located on an outer side of the fixing frame (14). A light entering opening (141) is arranged on the fixing frame (14) with respect to at least one luminous element (152) of the luminous device (15). The backlight module (10) provides the lateral light source needed by the light guide plate (12) by the light entering opening (141), so that a majority of the heat energy generated by the luminous device (15) can be isolated.
