<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propulsion system for ship, which prevents a rear propeller from eroding due to chip vortex cavitation generated at a front propeller, in a twin-screw ship using an overlapping propeller system. <P>SOLUTION: The propulsion system includes a port-side propeller 120, and a starboard propeller 110 provided so that a part of a wing 115 overlaps a wing 125 of the port-side propeller 120 before or behind the port-side propeller 120 in the ship longitudinal direction. The port-side propeller 120 positioned on the front, of the port-side propeller 120 and the starboard propeller 110, has a wing shape that prevents chip vortex cavitation from being generated as compared with the rear starboard propeller 110. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
