<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device capable of arbitrary adjusting the color gamut depending on the purpose of use, service place, and indicated content. <P>SOLUTION: The projection type display device comprises an optical filter 4 for improving saturation of at least one or more color lights among plural color lights constituting a display video. The optical filter consecutively changes a wavelength band of the color light transmitted or reflected according to an angle made with the entering color light.
