<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tire, capable of improving rolling resistance characteristics, steering stability, durability (especially, rubber strength and flexural fatigue resistance) and kneading processability in a good balance, and a pneumatic tire by using the same. <P>SOLUTION: This rubber composition for the tire includes rubber components and a rod-formed silica having 3 to 35 nm mean width and 50 nm to 5 μm mean length, and the rubber components contain natural rubber and a diene-based rubber modified by a compound expressed by formula (1) [wherein, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>to R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>are each the same or different and alkyl, alkoxy, silyloxy, acetal, carboxyl, mercapto or their derivatives; R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>are each the same or different and H or alkyl; and (n) is an integer]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
