<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion control device and a combustion control method for an internal combustion engine, in which combustion control superior in stability and followability is actualized by using an efficient calculating unit for accurately estimating an ignition timing and a heat generation period on the basis of control parameters for the internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: The combustion control device (40) for the internal combustion engine (1) controls the plurality of control parameters so that the ignition timing and the heat generation period approximate target values. Particularly, the combustion control device (40) previously creates prediction model equations as linear equations for the plurality of control parameters on the basis of data acquired during test operation, solves the prediction model equations during actual operation to find adequate values for the plurality of control parameters corresponding to the target values and calculate correction amounts, and controls the plurality of control parameters on the basis of the correction amounts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
