<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem with mass productivity of conventional bistable liquid crystal devices caused by panel-dependent switching characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: An uneven film whose average surface roughness measured by an atomic force microscope is 2 nm or less is inserted as an intermediate layer between a low anchoring layer and ITO, thereby influence of panel-dependent ITO-film surface shapes on the low anchoring layer can be avoided, and switching characteristics are stabilized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
