<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that properly irradiates the surface of a photoreceptor with light and properly remove residual potential on the surface of the photoreceptor without causing increase in apparatus size, in recharging the surface of the photoreceptor using a charging device after the transfer of a toner image. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is provided with an intermediate transfer belt 14 on which a toner image formed on the surface of a photoreceptor 10 is transferred. The intermediate transfer belt 14 is provided with a surface light-emitting member 30; voltage is then applied by voltage applying means 40 to the surface light-emitting member 30, which has been guided to a portion opposite to the photoreceptor by an intermediate transfer body; and the surface of the photoreceptor 10 is irradiated with light emitted from the surface light-emitting member 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
