The seal (2) made of silicone elastomer comprises a fastening section (3) and a hollow seal portion (4) having an inner wall (10) arranged at the side of cooking chamber, and an outer wall (12) formed outside the cooking appliance. The cross-sections of the sealing edges (14,16) formed in the outer and inner walls are perpendicular to the extension direction of the seal. The outer sides of the outer and inner walls are formed in convex shape. The wall thickness (D) of the outer wall is greater than the wall thickness (d) of the inner wall.
