The car has a camera (20) i.e. stereo camera, provided for a driver assistance system for detecting an object passing through a front disk (3) of the car at an outer side of the car. The camera is connected with a roof transverse carrier (5) of the car in a separable manner, where the transverse carrier is arranged in an area of a circumferential section of the front disk. The transverse carrier has a laminarly-designed fastening element (18) for connection with the camera, where the driver assistance system is connected with the camera in a separable manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for connecting a camera of a driver assistance system with a motor car.
