FIELD: construction. ^ SUBSTANCE: tower body of overhead transmission line is made of metal formed section which cross-section looks like half of polygon. Width of side edges of the latter is decreased with height and outermost side edges have flat end bends located in one plane and connected by array elements forming surface of additional edge. Number n of side edges is selected on found out dependency. ^ EFFECT: reduction in metal consumption by tower bodies due to optimal number of edges and simplification of tower bodies maintenance during operation without special attachments or hoisters due to selected form and location of array elements. ^ 2 cl, 3 dwg
