<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control playback of a PG image from a BD-J application. <P>SOLUTION: A stereo PG stream of a PG image of a stereo image being a 3D image, and an offset PG stream of a PG image of a mono image to be used to generate a stereo image with an offset value for providing parallax to a mono image are defined as a PG stream of a PG image. A stream selection API selects a stereo PG stream or an offset PG stream. If an offset PG stream exists when a stereo PG stream is selected while a video mode is a flattened-stereo video mode, a mono image corresponding to the offset PG stream is played with an offset value set to zero.
