<p>[Problem] To provide a protective cover which has improved strength and can be reduced in size, and to provide an optical pickup device provided with the protective cover. [Solution] A protective cover (40) comprises: a first opposing plate (41) which is formed by bending a single metal sheet and opposes the information recording face of an optical disc; a second opposing plate (42) which opposes a first elastic wire (34a) and is fixed to a base (36); and a third opposing plate (43) which opposes a second elastic wire (34b) and is fixed to the base (36). The first opposing plate (41) is provided with a first aperture (41a) which exposes object lenses (28a, 28b) and restricts movement of a holder (33) in a focusing direction (F) (+ side) towards the information recording face of the optical disc. The second opposing plate (42) faces more towards the outer circumference of the optical disc as the position of the first elastic wire (34a) approaches the position at which the holder (33) is supported. An optical pickup device (20) is provided with the protective cover (40).</p> |
