In a lubricating-oil pump with a reciprocating piston 2 rotatable to control the intake and discharge of lubricant, a second piston 2, held axially stationary with respect to the pump housing, cooperates with a blind bore 22 of the reciprocating piston. Lubricant is delivered simultaneously from the two pumping chambers 27 and 28 to separate outlets 30 and 32 or 29 and 31 through ports 33 and 34 in the piston 2. The stroke of the piston 2 is adjustable by means of a stop 11 engaging a profile 14 on a rotatable shaft 17. Lubricant is supplied to the pumping chambers from the chamber 10, containing the axially acting cam 6 co-operating with the stop 11, through passages (39, 40), Fig. 2 (not shown), in the pump housing and ports (35, 36, 37, 38) in the pump bore. One or more outlets may be by-passed by a passage (41), Fig. 4 (not shown), to the cam chamber 10. The stop 8 engaging the cam profile has a flat end surface (8'), Fig. 5 (not shown), with and a bevelled peripheral surface (8") of slightly greater slope than the cam profile. |
