<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and certainly detect an edge out of an imaging view field range of an image of an article to be measured which is imaged by imaging means. <P>SOLUTION: An image measuring device displays an image of a work 12 in an imaging view field range 25a which is imaged by a CCD camera 18 for imaging the work 12. An edge 12a of the work 12 within the imaging view field range 25a is detected by a plurality of edge detection tools 50 set at predetermined sampling intervals Δ. The work 12 and the CCD camera 18 are moved in a direction to the outside of the imaging view field range 25a designated by an operation, due to the relative movement of a measuring table 13 or an imaging unit 17, thereby imaging the image out of the imaging view field range 25a. A CPU 35 stops the movement of the measuring table 13 or the imaging unit 17, when the edge 12a is detected in at least two of the plurality of edge detection tools 50 within the imaging view field range 25a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
