Polarising thin film electrode

A transparent thin-film electrode comprising carbon nanotubes that polarise light transmitted therethrough. The transparent thin-film electrode can also be provided with at least one auxiliary electrode 2. The transparent thin-film electrode can also be provided with a light emitting layer, wherein the light emitted from the light emitting layer is polarised such that the polarisation direction substantially matches that of the transparent thin-film electrode. The transparent thin-film electrode can be provided in a liquid crystal display or a light emitting device.
