Briquetting press for wood scrap - which is extruded through die to make cylindrical briquettes used as inexpensive domestic or industrial fuel

Wood shavings, sawdust and/or forestry scrap are fed down an inlet funnel into an inclined cylinder(a), in which a reciprocating piston(a1) drives the wood into a cylinder(b), in which a reciprocating piston(b1) forces the wood through a die to make briquettes with a circular cross-section. The die contains longitudinal slots forming tongues which can be squeezed together by a clamp. The pref. machine includes a single motor employed to rotate a shaft carrying two flywheels. The shaft is used to drive two eccentrics which reciprocate pistons(a1,b1). The result is an inexpensive press of simple design but high reliability.
